'Caught In Glass' an exhibition of recent work by glass artist Amy McCarthy
Amy McCarthy has kindly given us the opportunity to exhibit a body of her recent work between a full schedule of commissions, residencies and community projects . One of Amy s many contributions to Teignmouth (without gratuity) is the organisation of TRAIL the annual outdoor sculpture exhibition, which this year has a splinter exhibition at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen at Bovey Tracey . If you have not already been its well worth it.
McCarthy uses both traditional and non-traditional glass based processes and while many of her commissions are collaborations between client and artist using formal design practices, her own works are filled with challenging political and social commentary. We are big fans at the gallery and while we like the more decorative glass we love the political nature of McCarthys main studio practice.
The private view is going to be 25th November between 3 and 5 pm, if you can make it we would love to see you (probably going to be some seasonal light drinking and eating available).
