I'm making a series of small scale sculptures / maquettes that loosely describe the monstrous (some literally monsters) fragility of ships at sea . In my past these would have been much larger - human scale objects. They still could be but at the moment I'm quite happy to fiddle about with scales that are eminently 'own-able'.
'Floating Eye Of Death' gently rocks given a little nudge. As well as the small scale there is a nod towards the domestic and playful.
A colleague described this as a Dr Seuss sculpture - what a massive compliment!
