Last couple of days to see Amy McCarthy at Words & Pictures Gallery

Saturday 21st September will be the last opportunity to see the glass work of Amy McCarthy as artist in resident at the gallery. She has taken over the back part of the gallery and has been using it as a studio for the past two weeks. It has been fascinating to watch the two huge windows commissioned for Newton Abbot Museum come together and whatever our many thousand of visitors have gained from the experience i've learned loads. If you get a chance try and make it to the gallery today or tomorrow. If you are in Town anyway you can also pop along to Teignmouth Heritage Centre and see Amys War Memorial that was installed last Saturday.

Glass artist at work.

Amy McCarthy is in full creative flow in the gallery this week and next for Devon Open Studios. She is in the 'Back Room Gallery' at Words & Pictures snipping lead, cutting glass and soldering panels together for Newton Abbot Museum. She also has the unveiling of her War Memorial piece at Teignmouth Heritage Centre this weekend... a very busy lady indeed. There have been loads of people through the door and she's been as warm and welcoming to the last as she was to the first. If you have not been to see her work in the gallery then please do so. We are venue 107 and Amy will be with us until Saturday 21st September.

Amy McCarthy - Devon Open Studios at Words & Pictures Gallery

Lovely to have Amy McCarthy as artist in residence for September. She will be in the gallery working on a war memorial commission and demonstrating the many processes that she applies to her glass designs. There is plenty of her work in the gallery so lots to see... and of course all our other artwork from the 75 artists and designers that we represent at Words & Pictures Gallery. Gallery view - Amy McCarthy Open until 22nd September
