New Sculptural Piece: 'Powered by Tudor Politics '

Yes - probably bit of a stupid title and actually the only real association it has with Tudor politics are the Tudor portraits I used in the propeller blades. But I was also thinking about Henry VIII and how much he reminded me of Donald Trump in his lack of subtlety and the arrogance of absolute power... hubris etc. The text on the ship comes appropriately enough from 'Hornblower' giving the French a drubbing in the English Channel. Another arrogant fascist - good books though.

Devon Open studios in full swing and New works in the gallery

The work of Jane Perkins and Giles Ward are featuring in the window this week... and it hadn't really occurred to me that they were both animals - and the gallery is next door to a pet shop.. Both works use found materials but in very different ways. You can engage with surface and meaning on a a number of levels and they have drawn a lot of attention. Devon Open Studios is only on for another week so if you are in Devon make the most of it but you could do a lot worse than coming to Teignmouth which is by far one of the largest concentrations of open studios (and brilliant galleries).
