Words & Pictures Gallery is a contemporary art gallery with a range of painting, sculpture, hand-made prints, ceramics, glass, jewellery and books. We specialise in supporting local artists from the South West but also have a number of high profile artists with national and international reputations.

 

Generally speaking people don’t buy a piece of artwork from a gallery to go into another gallery, they buy it because they love it and it’s to go in their home.  We respect the gallery experience and seeing artwork in isolation but we like to think we have introduced a less formal environment. This is supported by the introduction of books – our house

is full of books and art so it seemed perfectly obvious to have both in the gallery… and it really works!

 

From September 2016 Words & Pictures Gallery will also host one and

two person exhibitions in the ‘Back Room Gallery’ portion of the building. These will help to establish our commitment to the arts and support of artists. We hope it will be a space to exhibit more ‘challenging’ artwork from avant-garde artists and recent graduates. 

 

You are sure of a warm welcome and we really don’t mind if you just pop in to have a look at the artwork, but once you see how good it is you will be hard pressed to leave without something! We have a website and you can find us on the usual social media sites so check regularly and see what’s new.
